The 20 second reel from @wanderlusttravelcouple starts with a joke told in text on screen. Over a first person view from the driver’s seat of a golf cart, a hand on the steering wheel and a rock tunnel ahead, the first line reads: “Boyfriend: Wanna go to the MOST UNIQUE bar ever?” The second line is the girlfriend’s reply: “Sure… but why are we driving a golf cart into a cave?” And the boyfriend’s answer: “Because that’s the only way to get there.”

The tunnel ahead holds another cart and a wooden gate. After the exchange the video cuts inside, where a sign on the rock wall reads “Welcome to the Bat Bar” above a short list of names. The caption gives the location: “Located at @topoftherockmo in Branson, Missouri,” and calls the place “The Bat Bar,” a bar “inside of a cave with an underground waterfall.” The caption also says it is “only about an hour drive from Springfield, Missouri.”

The next frames show the pieces of the visit. A waterfall lit in blue falls into a pool inside the cave. A hand holds up two paper vouchers that read “Drink Voucher.” A golf cart with small American flags on the back rolls through a lit passage with rock walls on both sides. Two hands tap together a pair of colorful cans with the Bat Bar name on them. The waterfall appears again from beside a railing, and the reel ends with a cart driving out of the cave through a wooden gateway into daylight.

The caption fills in how the outing works. According to the creators, the Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail is a self guided golf cart tour of about 2.5 miles that passes multiple waterfalls, rock formations and scenic viewpoints. “Your ticket comes with a drink ticket to be used at the Bat Bar which is how you start out your journey,” the caption says, adding that a digital menu pulls up in the cart. The video shows a screen mounted on the cart’s dashboard in the opening frames.

Two practical details in the caption matter for a couple or a family. The creators write that the driver of the golf cart must be 18 or older, but that it is “a very family friendly experience as well.” They say the whole tour takes “about an hour or 2 depending on your pace and your stops.” All of these figures come from the creators’ caption, and the reel does not show a ticket window, prices or hours.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, more than 7,500 caves are known in Missouri, and the state ranks second to Tennessee in the number of natural caves. The department also says more than 1,100 known species live in or use Missouri’s caves, and that seven bat species depend on them.

For a reader planning a date or an anniversary trip, the reel supplies a short checklist. Plan for roughly one to two hours, since the creators give that range, and book a time that leaves room to stop at the viewpoints rather than rush the 2.5 miles. Have a driver who is 18 or older. Use the drink ticket that comes with the ticket at the start, as the caption describes, and confirm the current ticket price and hours with the venue, which the reel does not show.
