In the chaotic world of friendships and relationships, it’s often hard to predict the fallout that can arise from seemingly innocent encounters. Such is the case for Deya, a 25-year-old with a tumultuous friendship history, particularly with a woman named Daisy. Their bond, which had roots deep in their families’ histories, became strained as they grew older. Deya recounts her experience in a candid tale that highlights the absurdity of teenage crushes and adult drama.

Deya and Daisy’s friendship was practically etched in stone from the moment they were born. Their mothers, who had a complicated past themselves, ensured that the two girls were always together. They wore the same clothes and shared the same friends, even earning the nickname “Siamese twins” because of their close bond. However, this friendship took a sharp turn at the age of 13 when Daisy began to distance herself, criticizing Deya for her appearance and prioritizing her own social status over their friendship. Deya, hurt but resilient, moved on and found new friends.

It was during this time that Daisy developed a crush on a boy named Edmundo, a popular kid living in the affluent part of town. Despite her efforts to win his affection, Daisy faced rejection, which hit her hard. Deya learned about it later through the grapevine, as Daisy’s emotional breakdown was broadcast on social media. From that moment, communication between the two girls dwindled significantly. Though they occasionally crossed paths at family events, they never returned to the closeness they once shared.

Fast forward to the present, Deya is now studying literature and working towards her writing career. It’s during this journey that she reconnects with Edmundo through a mutual friend named Samantha. Much to Deya’s surprise, it turns out Edmundo is the very same boy who had rejected Daisy years ago. They hit it off, and before long, they were sharing an apartment together. Everything seemed to be going well until the drama that would shake the foundations of Deya’s life began to unfold.

Daisy, who is now married with two children, resurfaces dramatically. After a peaceful Christmas with Deya’s mother and Edmundo, chaos ensued when Daisy saw photos of them online. That’s when she erupted with rage, calling Deya to scream about “girl code” and how she had crossed a line by dating Daisy’s old crush.

Deya, half-asleep and bewildered, clarified that girl code only applies if one is actually dating the person in question. “Go change your kids’ diapers,” she said before blocking Daisy’s number. This, however, did not quell the situation. In a desperate move, Daisy contacted Deya’s mother, leading to an amusing phone call where Deya’s mom neither defended nor condemned her, but simply found the whole situation funny.

As things escalated further, Daisy began an all-out campaign to reclaim Edmundo. Deya was both shocked and amused to find Daisy stalking Edmundo on social media—liking his posts, commenting with thinly veiled insults directed at Deya, and even sending Edmundo unsolicited explicit messages. The hilarity of the situation only deepened when Deya’s boyfriend, Edmundo, decided to contact Daisy’s husband to inform him of his wife’s bizarre behavior. This conversation only led to more drama with the husband oddly commenting that if Daisy’s friend hadn’t been dating her ex, none of this would have happened.

Ultimately, Deya chose to block Daisy and move on with her life. Edmundo, finding amusement in the drama, ignored Daisy’s attempts to follow him under fake profiles. It was a ridiculous episode that echoed their teenage years—a time when insecurities and betrayals felt monumental but now seemed more like a poorly scripted soap opera.

In the end, Deya reflected on the situation with a sense of amusement and disbelief. She was aware that the entirety of the conflict stemmed from Daisy’s unresolved feelings and failed crush from years ago. “Girl code?” Deya smirked, realizing that it only applied in certain situations, which this definitely wasn’t. And perhaps, this whole incident was a reminder of how far they had drifted apart, both in maturity and in life choices.
