Tyler Cameron is engaged. The “Bachelorette” alum proposed to girlfriend Tate Madden on the beach at Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys, and announced the news on his own Instagram this past weekend with a caption that read simply, “Better late than never they say,” according to Bachelor Nation’s coverage of the announcement.
How they got here
Cameron and Madden, a model and photographer, were connected through mutual friends in Florida back in 2022, according to TMZ, which first reported the engagement. The two kept their relationship private for roughly two years before going Instagram official in September 2024. For the proposal itself, Cameron wore white pants and a striped button-down; Madden wore a floral white sundress, per TMZ’s report.
The pressure he talked about publicly
Cameron didn’t propose quietly or out of nowhere. As recently as March 2026, he and Madden addressed the timeline directly on their own YouTube series, in an episode titled “Why Hasn’t Tyler Proposed? Tyler & Tate Talk Marriage & Life Together.” On the show, Cameron indicated a proposal would happen soon and said the two had already discussed ring shopping together, according to TMZ’s reporting on the episode.
That wasn’t the first time Cameron addressed the question publicly. He’d spoken previously, in interviews last fall, about feeling pressure from fans and followers who’d been anticipating a proposal for months, while maintaining that he and Madden were moving at a pace that worked for them specifically, not on anyone else’s timeline.
What it means for Bachelor Nation
Cameron, who first became a household name during Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2019, has built a life mostly outside the traditional Bachelor Nation spotlight since then, splitting time between reality TV appearances and a growing real estate and home renovation business in Florida. His relationship with Madden developed almost entirely off-camera, a contrast to how much of his “Bachelorette” cohort has approached dating publicly since their own seasons aired.
