Oreo has three brand-new cookies on shelves at the same time, and for the first time, the company is letting the people eating them decide which one survives. The Twist, Lick, Vote campaign, laid out in Oreo’s own press release, introduces Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles cookies as a limited-run trio, then hands the tiebreaker to whoever tries them.
Voting opened August 17 and runs through October 12, 2026, so the contest is live right now. You can cast a vote at OREO.com/twist-lick-vote or by scanning the QR code printed on each package. Oreo says it will name the winner on October 13, and that flavor becomes a permanent addition to the lineup in 2027, while the other two disappear once current stock sells through.
Each flavor pulls in a different direction on purpose. Banana Pudding pairs banana and vanilla pudding creme between vanilla wafer-style cookies, chasing the comfort of a Southern dessert bowl. Deep Fried goes for carnival-food nostalgia, built around a dark chocolate wafer and a creme meant to taste like fried dough. Chicken & Waffles is the wildcard of the three, a waffle-textured cookie sandwiching a dual-layer creme that mixes something sweet with something savory, according to details Oreo shared and that food-industry trade outlet NOSH independently confirmed in its own coverage of the launch.

“By dropping three incredibly distinct flavors at once…we are giving our community true agency to help decide the future of our product lineup,” Matt Foley, vice president of the Oreo brand, said in the company’s statement. Rohit Sakhamuri, the brand’s senior brand manager, added that the trio grew out of “over a year of meticulous research” aimed at turning “cultural fascination into a delicious reality.”
Key Points:
- Voting runs August 17 through October 12, 2026, at OREO.com/twist-lick-vote or via the QR code on each package.
- The three limited flavors are Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles.
- A presale started August 17 at OREO.com/UnwrapTheCollab and on SnackWorks’ TikTok Shop, with a nationwide retail rollout beginning August 24.
- The winning flavor, announced October 13, becomes a permanent addition to the Oreo lineup in 2027.
- Every eligible vote also enters a sweepstakes for a year’s supply of original Oreo cookies, shipped quarterly.
The format itself marks a real change in how Oreo treats its limited editions. Past specialty flavors, from Carrot Cake to Watermelon Vanilla, simply had their moment on shelves before quietly vanishing. This batch turns that disappearance into a decision the public gets to make out loud. If Chicken & Waffles somehow pulls off the win, expect the cookie aisle to be arguing about it well past October.
